Rev. Curtis L. Vance is the humble and honorable Pastor of St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church in Indianapolis, Indiana
Born in Waxhaw, Mississippi, he is the son of a minister. He is married to Charlye Jean Thomas Vance, an anointed woman of God, and the father of five children; Patrisha, Joe, Rev. Dion, Yulanda and Greg. He is also a grandfather and great-grandfather.
Rev. Vance moved to Muncie, Indiana in 1966, accepted his calling to the ministry in 1972, and served as pastor of the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church for eleven years. In August, 1983, Rev. Vance became the pastor of St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church in Indianapolis, Indiana. Rev. Vance is a teacher, counselor, mentor and friend to his congregation. A God-fearing man who is “not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ”, he is a people-person who has been endowed with many gifts. He is a renowned singer, accomplished musician (his favorite instrument is the guitar) and noted evangelist.
Rev. Vance has several sons and daughters who have been called to the ministry under his leadership, including some who are now pastors. A visionary man of God, his passion is to build a much-needed Family Life Center for St. Luke’s present and future generations.
Pastor Vance graduated from Crossroads Bible College, Farmland Indiana, with a degree in Theology. In May, 2009 he received an honorary Doctorate Degree from Martin University in Indianapolis, Indiana, and currently serves as Moderator of the Union District Association.
